This paper describes the background of this program and reports on a field study of the program implementation at X Juvenile Training School. Participating girls and correctional officers were interviewed and the program lessons were videotaped. Videotaping was conducted of both of the core program, including group work sessions, and of selective sessions such as meetings and assertion sessions. The possible, promising steps necessary for a future qualitative analysis of these data are presented. It is expected that findings will be obtained regarding how the participating girls and the correctional officers understand and interpret the program, including temporal trends and variability. The aspects of the program that were not studied empirically during this research project, such as the program for the guardians, are also mentioned.
